Thoughts on Human Nature

A while ago (5/2006) I had to read some book for work, which I"m afraid I don't remember off hand. But it spurred on these thoughts.... ------------------------------------------------------- Thought #1 The soul is the body and the spirit combining the human (animal) with the Godly(celestial). Within every person two natures exist, with their own instincts and desires. How does one grow stronger than the other?? Is this what accounts for the vast spectrum of human behavior? The moments of pure animalistic passion opposed to those of quiet, introspection or selfless compassion. For example, fasting. The animal hungers, the automatic response is to feed the hungar, stop the feeling. By denying the animal desire, the second half is strengthened, a feeling becomes slightly more evident that there is a second nature within us, that is sometimes hidden, unheard above the animal. A strength and potential exists beyond the physical. ----------------------------------------------...
