20 Things About Me

Joey, my sister, loves to fill out all of the random questionaires that come through email, or on blogs, and she likes everyone else to fill them out too. I normally don't participate, unless I just send it to her. But she tried to convince me that this is different and everyone should do it. So here are 20 random things about me that I thought about while ignoring my marketing teacher drone on about people with lots of money. You should fill it out too, its interesting to see what people think of to write.

1. I am not a little person.

2. Blonde hair makes me not sad and depressed. In the winter I always want brown hair because its dark and sad outside.

3. Sometimes I wish I could swim in a giant pile of books like Uncle McScrooge and his money.

4. Staring at nothing for extensive periods of time is one of my favorite past-times.

5. Computers try to make me love them, but I refuse to let them win.

6. I love water, just about everything about it. Drinking it, swimming in it, being clean, making jello, flushing fire hydrants, testing for chlorine and bacteria, listening to it sing in pipes. There's nothing like a singing pipe.

7. Sometimes I worry that I'll forget people that I've met. Random people mainly, like the homeless man I hugged downtown, the biker we stopped in Oregon, Wilson the retired Hostess worker I shared a desk with at the IRS, Mr. Rogers, Steve Erwin, etc.

8. When I think about my mission I pray that I'll never forget. Never forget one person, one face, one feeling or moment. That I'll be able to remember it forever. (This stems partially from #7, #9 and a dream I had in Corvallis that mad me sad and then happy when I woke up and saw it wasn't true)

9. I love people, 99.9% of all people. I love to figure out what makes them special and unique from all of the other people, the things that most people never take the time to learn or never see. I always find something. People are great.

10. Sometimes I sleep good at night.

11. Sometimes sleep makes me feel like I've lost my mind and that I need professional mental help. I've come to terms with what kind of dementia patient I will be as I get older.

12. If I get lost in large body of water, lake, ocean, pond, river, Niagra Falls, I don't want anyone to come looking for my body. That's not a fun time for anyone.

13. Rides that drop straight down make me stop breathing, but the thought of letting someone date me or like me as more than just the best friend they've ever had terrifies me.

14. Money can't buy me.

15. I have a couple of friends I met online over ten years ago, and still have never met in person, and may never meet in person.

16. My humidifier is a fat blue plastic penguin.

17. Driving in the snow is my favorite winter sport.

18. Joey is my security blanket.

19. Wendy is my ego booster.

20. Sometimes I feel like there is something different about me from other people. Like I have some special purpose or gift, that I haven't quite figured out yet. But that there are people I've never met who know me and are looking for and waiting for me to find them.

More than you ever wanted to know about me I'm sure. Anyway, the penguin humidifiers are available at Super Target, winter driving should be attempted by professionals only, and everyone should wear a lifevest when traveling over the water to avoid bodies being lost.

Sugar.

I felt like making a special tribute to Sugar, my long time friend. From a very young age I began a relationship with this delightful substance. My mother would add Karo syrup to my formula, and we haven't been parted since. I think to say that I love sugar is an understatement. I love water, I love hotdogs, but Sugar?...I can't survive without it. Although avoiding diabetes could be impossible, I can't resist. Whether it's a brownie for breakfast, a little sugar packet while waiting for food at the restaurant, or what ever misc. sugar laced deliciousness I eat in my sleep I just can't let go. I can't say that I've never tried to stop, to break the connection that we have. It was a terrible experience, that left people wondering if I was really a coke addict (not the beverage). So our relationship will be life long, its either all or none of us, we'll go down together. Here's to you sugar, and your secret powers to brighten every day.

I Hate Disneyland

It's true. Although this, my third time, was much more successful than preceding visits. Honestly, the first day was almost a success until I was tricked into riding the elevator to hell. Straight to hell. I know that you can't wait to read how I really feel about it. Here are my thoughts on the "Magical Kingdom". A. Its full of people, thousands and thousands of people. Let's face it I can't even go to Target on a Saturday without getting a little angry. 2. Germs. You can't have thousands of people without billions of germs crawling on things from unwashed hands, sneezing, coughing, throwing up, etc. III. Walking. I appreciate a nice brisk walk now and then, but 20 miles later the appreciation start to wane, just slightly. Q. Strollers. I hate strollers, it makes me shiver just to think about it. Although, I might change my opinion on strollers if next time someone pushes me in one. In conclusion, I love Space Mountain, I want to ride it every day 15 ti

Summer Project #1 - The Hydrant Sprinkler

So, I recently took after my sisters and made a lengthy list.  Mine is of house projects I would like to do, or save up for (is more realistic).  My first project was to move my birthday present from Jeremy, a Pacific State fire hydrant, from my patio so we wouldn't be the junk yard neighbors. Birthday Present 2010 Pre Make Over Although it was a good looking hydrant before I started working on it, our patio is only 10' and it was a little out of place, and in the way. A little TLC is understatement.  I took the entire hydrant apart (hydrant anatomy lesson post forthcoming), drilled new holes in different pieces, greased it up, repainted it, designed and implemented a new plumbing system and........ VOILA!!! I had a brand new sprinkler for our flower bed/veggie garden.  Note:  there are three sprinklers built into the hydrant, which I might have connected to our landscape sprinkler system without permission from the HOA.  Also note:  the sprinkler o
