Kennecott Copper Mine |
There was no one to go with me, so I made the trip all alone. Luckily some friendly man took my picture so I could prove that I was actually there.
Here are some things I learned:
1. It costs a min of $5.00 to visit the mine and its lovely visitor's center and Lion's sponsored store.
b. you should get gas long before you get to the mine, its kind of a long drive.
III. There's a super old fire hydrant on display in the courtyard near the giant 12 foot tire. Guess which one I noticed first.....
4. The visitor's center video is a -must see-, mainly because you'll never get your $5.00 worth paying .25 cents to watch trucks drive in circles up and down the mine.
Finally, and maybe most importantly, the bathrooms are clean.
In other news it costs $100,000 a year for each dump truck to have new tires, which they must. I'm guessing they'll never let me drive one. That's when I left, to avoid the severe disappointment.
